Tree Planting
Organise and facilitate community tree-planting sessions in support of the OneMillionTrees movement
Illustrated by Nature Kakis Youth Stewards
The OneMillionTrees movement is a nationwide effort to plant a million more trees across Singapore over the next 10 years, bringing the number of trees in Singapore to more than 8 million. As a key strategy in Singapore’s City in Nature vision, Nature Kakis can play a role in intensifying the greenery in Singapore to build climate resilience.
Tree planting facilitators teach participants the basics of tree planting and their importance in Singapore’s landscape, while ensuring that the planting is carried out in a safe manner.
Nature Kakis can:
Organise and facilitate tree planting sessions for the community, by undergoing training as tree planting facilitators
Organise fringe activities before and after tree planting sessions to engage participants in connecting with nature through various ways, such as plant giveaways and educational games
