Nature Guided Walks
Explore the rich biodiversity and heritage of Singapore’s green network

Illustrated by Nature Kakis Youth Stewards
With the transformation of Singapore into a City in Nature, all households will be a 10-minute walk from a park by 2030, bringing nature closer to our homes. Singapore has a wide variety of green spaces for everyone to explore, ranging from Nature Reserves and Nature Parks that serve as important habitats for sensitive wildlife, parks and gardens for communities to enjoy, and an extensive Park Connector Network that links everything together.
Nature Kakis can design and conduct nature guided walks across various green spaces with their communities, and explore collaborations too with guides from Friends of the Parks and other nature groups.
Nature Kakis can:
Organise a series of nature guided walks that invite the community to discover the local biodiversity across different green spaces
Co-develop and facilitate nature guided walks that incorporate the community’s knowledge and memories of heritage trees in their neighbourhood
Design resources for self-guided nature walks such as digital trail maps and audio guides to enhance residents’ experience
Partner organisations such as active ageing centres and pre-schools to bring nature guided walks to target groups from different walks of life

Beyond just walks
Nature Kakis have gone a step further by bringing other activities into their nature guided walks. Through walks, Nature Kakis have engaged residents on local biodiversity, shared about the therapeutic value of green spaces, taken participants into the water on kayaks, conducted cleanups, and brought along their pets. By exploring the community’s needs and interests, Nature Kakis have explored novel ways of getting their communities to connect with nature.
