Biodiversity & Wildlife Management
Lead biodiversity surveys, watches and outreach on human-wildlife issues

Illustrated by Nature Kakis Youth Stewards
Singapore’s urban and natural landscapes teem with biodiversity and wildlife, providing opportunities for the community to learn and coexist with wildlife.
With habitats ranging from primary forests in our nature reserves, mangroves and seagrass along our coastlines, and even greenery among our urban cityscapes, wildlife has become an integral part of our City in Nature.
Nature Kakis can:
Organise or participate in citizen science surveys and watches to educate the community on biodiversity such as birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and marine creatures in intertidal areas
Self-organise biodiversity/photography nature walks for residents
Educate the community on responsible human-wildlife encounters including good practices such as observing wildlife from a distance, refraining from feeding animals, keeping food and plastic bags out of sight, and disposing of waste properly
Conduct outreach on parks and nature reserves etiquette and managing human-wildlife conflict, from webinars and engagement talks to sharing advisory materials with the community at noticeboards or house visits
Incorporate wildlife management topics into other community programmes led by the Chapter
